Cheryl O'Brien, Founder & President

Ms. Cheryl O’Brien is the Principal and Founder for Technology Management Corporation (TMC) headquartered in Minneapolis, MN. Ms. O’Brien provides IT consulting services for governments, international airports, multi-national large enterprises, large venue facilities, financial, manufacturing, multi-national religious ecclesiastical, healthcare, and retail verticals around the world. Ms. O’Brien has specific expertise and extensive experience in enterprise WAN, IP data networking infrastructures, converged communications including VoIP and SIP, business continuity and diversity planning and design for outside plant, fiber rings, data centers and failover sites, cloud/hosting/colocation and enterprise risk assessment, and network operations centers (NOC). In addition, Ms. O’Brien leads all physical and legal contract risk assessment and mitigation, and compliance consulting services for both public and private sector clients globally and nationally.

 

Ms. O’Brien has over 40 years of industry experience and has spent the past 32 years building a highly respected technology consulting firm that is entrusted to plan, design, implement, and manage multiple technology services for national and international organizations with locations around the globe including those areas with state-of-the-art technology resources as well as those with little or no resources.

Cheryl was educated at the University of Minnesota's Institute of Technology for Architecture and Structural Engineering and also trained as one of the few female pilots including simulator training at NASA in California.  Cheryl is also a current Board Member of the Society of Communications Technology Consultants, as well as a former Board Member of the Cloud Security Alliance of Minnesota.

Previous to founding TMC Cheryl worked for the City of Minneapolis as the Minneapolis Community Development Agency and Minneapolis Public Housing Authority Telecommunications and Facilities Manager which included the RFP process for selection of providers and technology under the detailed legal and bidding environment of a government.  Cheryl has a comprehensive understanding of interaction with and direction of key team members.  Her knowledge of international technology and international market rates coupled with her professional negotiating skills has allowed her to negotiate technology contracts which have reduced her clients’ costs by an average of 42% over the years.

 

Cheryl uses her years of experience and knowledge as well as her lasting commitment to operating as an independent consultant with no agency agreements or financial ties to any vendor, to oversee all activities and ensure the customer receives the best value for the technologies, and that specifications, project timelines and goals are met.

 

Cheryl has brought her depth of experience and insight from founding a business to growing it to ensure survival for all economic environments. Cheryl has mentored thousands, including clients, on the needed skills to succeed as a WBE in a male dominated industry through speaking, seminars and panel discussion events.

 

Cheryl represents clients to ensure maximum technology design impact while still achieving favorable business terms for Capital and Operating Expenses.  Her firm consults on IP Voice, WAN/LAN, A/V, Wi-Fi, Cable Infrastructure and Security from design/specifications, negotiations to project management implementation. She is able to bring the finances, operations and multi-faceted options and opportunities for social interaction to the table.  Her business knowledge completes the overall integration of technology with the business operations.

Ted Siska, Principal Consultant

Mr. Ted Siska has 35 years of experience in the IT industry, principally in system design/analysis, but also encompassing competencies in the operations side of the business (Project Management, Installation and Maintenance management). He has designed systems and networks for the most demanding environments, including the small representative sample listed below. These design efforts have included a mix of on-premises physical infrastructure, hosted (cloud) services and carrier network facilities and encompass specific technologies such as physical infrastructure, physical access control (ACS), video surveillance (CCTV, NVR), audiovisual (AV), telephony (analog, digital, and VoIP/SIP), Contact Center (ACD, CX, FCR, ICR, IVR and SBR), Radio Frequency (RF) technologies, Workforce Optimization (WFO), wireless (WLAN), Data networking (LAN, WAN) and network security (Cybersecurity). With a large background in the public-sector, he brings a high level of expertise to the technology system design of any project.

Toward that end, Ted has been one of the most highly credentialed individuals in the industry and has implemented systems for some of the largest public and private organizations in the country.  Ted has worked with and been certified with a variety of manufacturers and technologies for all aspects of a technology scope.

Brendon O'Brien, Chief Revenue Officer

Mr. Brendon O’Brien is a part of the TMC Executive Management Team as the Chief Revenue Officer. While his roots and connections remain strong in Minnesota, he is currently in charge of the Florida Office located in Tampa/Clearwater, FL. He manages client relationships from beginning to end to ensure each client has consistency all the way through for a successful project.

He is responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining successful business development strategies for TMC's multi-market IT Consulting & Low Voltage Design practice.

Brendon is an associate member of AIA MN, AIA FL, a former Board Member of the Cloud Security Alliance, an AVIXA member and a volunteer for the Society of Communications Technology Consultants.

 

Brendon also assists in technology consulting specializing in project management, CCTV/Access Control and in Wi-Fi design and development.

Alyssa O'Brien, Chief Admin Officer

Mrs. Alyssa O’Brien is a part of TMC Executive Management, in charge of the HR Division, Finance Division and Marketing Division. She has over 10 years of experience in all three areas. She is responsible for many of the operational and administrative activities at TMC to keep things running smoothly.  Alyssa's multitude of strengths includes deep experience, established strategic relationships and an innovative leadership style.
