Portfolio Highlights

Baldwin Park Unified School District

The overall objective of this project is to identify the requirements, design a completely new data center environment, create an RFP of all specifications and implementation professional services and support elements for the new data center and go out for proposals to achieve the following objectives:

  • Evaluate all current IT systems servicing the entire School District and recommend all systems to be kept, upgraded or replaced as it moves to the backup data center.

  • Plan and specify the process for the complete decommission the complete current data center environment and move it to a secondary location as the new redundant data center.

  • Total replacement of the data center equipment including LAN infrastructure, services, storage, firewalls, cabinets/racks, structured cabling along with rack and stack, configuration and commissioning resulting in a fully operational data center.

  • Service contracts for all associated new equipment for the data center.

Glencoe-Silver Lake Schools

TMC was brought on to examine the telecommunications environment of the consolidated schools of Glencoe and Silver Lake and provide a means of selection and acquisition of telecommunications systems for each school in the district. This analysis eventually migrated to additional services of local premise operations, local and long-distance carrier services, Internet service access and respective trunking facilities.


  • Examined the long distance and local service billing records provided by the school district (invoice audit)

  • Evaluated vendor responses and advised on the determination of which best met the performance and pricing criteria set aside by Glencoe - Silver Lake Schools

  • Established system implementation plan with chosen vendor

  • Coordinated the physical placement and location of equipment

  • Coordinated cable plant replacement

  • Verified and inventoried all systems equipment with vendor(s) upon or immediately after delivery

  • Oversaw the conversion of all long-distance network services and the fine tuning of local network services

  • Worked with the vendors to establish dial plans, call coverage patterns and systems integrations

  • Designed the invoice for proper billing hierarchy and intercompany procedures


TMC was successful in using the benchmark call volumes and network facilities identified from the invoice audit, Glencoe-Silver Lake Schools had reduced network voice and data expenditures by $474,746.76 annually.
