Hennepin County 625 Building Renovation

Project type

Technology / Low Voltage Design

Minneapolis, Minnesota

Hennepin county purchased a 17-story office building from Thrivent located at 625 4th Ave South. This was a strategic opportunity to align the County’s downtown resources. The building was built in 1981 with 539,000 GSF and approximately 300,000 USF of office space on floors 3-16 plus spaces in the lower levels and two floors of retail. This building is to be a primary office (non-courts) facility in support of downtown operations.

Our scope of services includes the Technology (Structured copper and fiber cable, Low Voltage, AV, Security and coordination of the DAS and lighting infrastructure) of the Hennepin County 625 Building. The project consists of two phases: a Building Infrastructure phase, including extensive selective telecommunications demolition; and a Tenant Improvement phase, which initially includes renovations and remodel of 4 floors (85,000 square foot) from Pre-Schematic Design through Construction Administration. The technology systems that are a part of our scope include:

• Voice/Data/Telecommunications structured cable
• MPOE/MPOP/APOP/ outside plant fiber and copper including street and skyway routes
• Telecommunication Rooms (TRs) layouts, standards, rack layouts and capacity planning.
• Cellular Distributed Antenna System (DAS)
• CCTV and Access Control
• Audio/Visual (A/V) Systems
